Notorious ball buster Gloria Allred involved in lawsuit against Orlando radio host
(WKMG.COM) ORLANDO, Fla. – The estranged wife of Russ Rollins, the host of “Monsters in the Morning” on Real Radio 104.1, has filed a defamation lawsuit against him, claiming she’s been harmed by remarks he made on the air.
Samantha Boomer, along with her attorneys, Gloria Allred and Howard Marks, held a news conference Friday afternoon to discuss the lawsuit against Rollins and iHeartMedia.
“Samantha has suffered and continues to suffer damages to her reputation and occupation,” Allred said.
The lawsuit states that Rollins staged a false story, claiming that Boomer had instructed a process server to serve Rollins with divorce papers while he was on the air.
“The conduct of Mr. Rollins and iHeart Media in this matter was outrageous,” Allred said.
Boomer said the incident has made her life very difficult and she’s considered moving her family out of state.
“My estranged husband Russ Rollins and his employer iHeart Media decided to take something that is painful, personal and private, and used it for public entertainment, for profit and ratings,” Boomer said reading from a prepared statement.
Allred wouldn’t allow her to answer questions.
Rollins told Local 6 that he learned about the lawsuit from Local 6. He declined to comment.
His attorney Jonathan Simon refuted Allred’s allegations, claiming the truth will come out soon.
“If this issue does not go back to being a private issue between these parties, then Mr. Rollins job is going to be in jeopardy,” he said. “That’s something that’s a very real fear on his part.”
