North Port murder suspect now facing armed robbery charge

Luciano is being held without bond on murder and armed robbery charges.


(BTLS Staff) NORTH PORT, Fla. – A Southwest Florida man arrested last month for murder is now facing an armed robbery charge.

Cesar McClatchy, 43, was stabbed to death near a homeless camp site on May 21st. Ryan Luciano was arrested and charged with the crime a short time later.

According to a North Port Police Department report, investigators have since tied him to the November 2012 armed robbery of a Chevron Gas Station at 13501 Tamiami Trail.

Luciano, 22, is in the Sarasota County Jail where he has been held without bond since he was arrested on the murder charge.

Investigators say during the homicide investigation they spoke with Brystarfer Horst Milliken about the chain of events that led to McClatchy’s death.

During an interview with Milliken, 24, admitted to taking part in 2012 armed robbery with Luciano. Milliken is facing one count of robbery with a firearm. He is currently in the Sarasota County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $150,000.

The report states in the armed robbery case, two armed suspects wearing masks entered the business and demanded cash and incense.
