Man arrested for bringing sword to visit son in jail

(Fox San Antonio) SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Deputies arrested a man they say brought a sword to the Bexar County Detention Center.
Investigators say 53-year-old Jose Gonzalez showed up at the jail Monday to visit his son, who is currently an inmate. Gonzalez entered the jail carrying a cane.

After he placed the cane on the security scanner, a security monitor spotted something strange through the scanner.

While examining the cane, the monitor found a sword enclosed inside it.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Investigators said Gonzalez’s motive was unclear.
