Ga. high school student charged with statutory rape

Alissah Tuma Foster was taken into custody on Monday afternoon. She is facing two counts of statutory rape.

(WRBL.COM) COLUMBUS, Ga. – Columbus Police say that a Shaw High School student has been arrested on two statutory rape charges.

According to the Ledger-Enquirer, police arrested 17-year-old Alissah Tuma Foster Monday afternoon around 2 pm at the Public Safety Center.

Foster is charged with two counts of statutory rape involving a victim at least 14-years-old, but younger than 16 years old, according to officials.

Reports show that drugs were not involved. Foster already had an outstanding warrant at the time of her arrest, according to police. She appeared at State Court Tuesday at 9 am. for a Recorder’s Court session. She was issued bonds totaling $5,000. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
