Fla. woman’s home burglarized, beloved Yorkshire Terrier lost
(BTLS Staff) PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A Charlotte County woman returned home last week to discover the residence had been broken into and her television was gone.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the worst part – whoever committed the crime either took her dog or allowed it to get outside the Blalock St. home.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office report the victim came through the front door last Thursday and knew immediately something was amiss. Her Yorkshire Terrier – ‘Gracie Rapunzel’ – was not barking.
She noticed the front door was closed, but unlocked and her old doggie door that had been boarded up was no longer secure and ‘Gracie’ was gone. The victim can replace the stolen flat-screen TV but replacing her beloved pet is not possible.
‘Gracie’ is an inside dog that never leaves the confines of the home. The small canine weighs approximately three pounds and is black, brown and gray in color. She was recently shaved, doesn’t have a color but is micro-chipped.
If you have seen ‘Gracie’ or have any information on the burglary, please contact CCSO at (941) 639-2101. If you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 800-780-8477.
