Fla. man charged with fathering child with 14-year-old girl
Hailey Kyle Vallier is facing one count of lewd and lascivious battery on a child under the age of 16. He is being held without bond.
According to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office report has been in the correctional facility since September 30th following his arrest on a charge of interfering the custody of a minor.
The report states deputies were attempting to locate the victim – a 14-year-old Lee County girl – in October 2013 after her guardians claim she ran away. She was located at Vallier’s residence at the time on Pinetree St. in Port Charlotte.
At the time of that arrest Vallier was already on felony probation for a similar crime involving the same teenage girl. In November 2013 the juvenile was again reported missing.
She was located in January, 2014 in Orange County with Vallier. Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported she was pregnant. At that time the suspect was 23 and the girl 14.
The suspect was taken into custody in September and charged with interfering with the custody of a child. The girl was with Vallier in Lake City when he was arrested and was nine months pregnant.
He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail where he was given a bond of $2 million. The girl gave birth to a child a few weeks later and a DNA sample taken from the infant.
In November DNA was taken from the suspect by detectives with CCSO’s Major Crimes unit. The DNA showed Vallier to be the father of the baby.
Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
