Dispute over dog treats leads to stabbing, arrest

Coleman, 51, is facing domestic battery charges.

(WESH.COM) BUNNELL, Fla. – Things quickly went to the dogs when a man tried to stab his brother, who had stopped in to pick up dog treats, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said.

Robert Coleman, 51, was arrested on Apricot Avenue in Bunnell around 8:30 pm. Wednesday. 

Deputies said Coleman lives with his parents. The victim lives on the property but in a separate mobile home.

The victim said that when he stopped in to get some treats for his dog, Coleman grabbed scissors and chased him around the house, trying to stab him.

The brothers’ mother said Coleman was so out of control, he nearly stabbed her when she tried to get between them.
Coleman was charged with aggravated assault.
