Citrus Co. deputies seek female bank robber

(BTLS Staff) FLORAL CITY, Fla. – Detectives with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office are on the lookout for a female bank robbery suspect.

The incident occurred just before 4 pm Tuesday at the Brannen Bank location in the 7400 block of South Florida Ave. in Floral City.

According to a Citrus County Sheriff’s Office report the suspect walked into the bank and started talking to a clerk about opening an account. When another employee told her they were about to close, she brandished a firearm and told everyone to get in the vault.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away from the bank in a tan Chrysler mini-van with tinted windows with a Florida license plate.

The woman stands between 5’4” and 5’6” tall, weighs between 160 and 170 pounds and has dark hair. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a dark purple dress and a dark colored wig.
