Marpet was selected by Tampa Bay in the second round of the 2015 draft.

(BTLS Staff) TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday announced the signing of one of their two second-round draft picks.

Ali Marpet, a 6’4” 307-pound offensive lineman, was chosen with the 61st overall pick in April. He played four years at Division III Hobart College in St. Geneva, New York.

The Bucs now have their entire 2015 draft class under contract.

Marpet played in 41 career games at Hobart. As a senior he was an AFCA All-American, a D3football.com first-team All-American and League Co-offensive player of the year.

He was the first offensive lineman in league history to earn that distinction.

He was drafted higher than any other Division III prospect in National Football League history. Marpet was the first D3 player to be selected among the top 100 since 1990, when Seattle selected running back Chris Warren out of Ferrum College.

He is a native of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and attended Hastings High School. During his prep career Marpet was a three-time varsity letterman playing both ways – offensive lineman and defensive tackle.
