Authorities issue alert for missing Safety Harbor man

Gardner, 73, drove away from his home early Wednesday.


(BTLS Staff) SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. – Authorities in Pinellas County are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing and possibly endangered Safety Harbor resident.

Jerry L. Gardner, 73, was last seen between 3:30 and 4 am Wednesday morning.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office report he drove away from his residence on Harbor Lake Circle in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The vehicle is gold in color with a Florida tag – 235 TKG.

Gardner is a white male. He stands 5’8” tall, weighs 200 pounds and has blue eyes and salt and pepper colored hair. The missing man is balding and has a gray beard.

He was last seen wearing burgundy-colored pajamas.

Gardner takes medication for health reasons and relatives tell deputies he was recently in a confused state of mind.
