Arizona teacher arrested over incidents involving sex, drugs, students

Pagel, 33, allegedly exchanged inappropriate text messages with at least one female student last year.


(AZCentral.com) BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Bullhead City police arrested a high school teacher Friday they say engaged in illegal conduct involving sex and drugs with several students.

After interviewing several students, detective says they found evidence Joseph James Pagel, 33, had exchanged sexually explicit photographs and text messages with a female student in 2014.

They say he also had students over to his home to smoke marijuana, and provided pills believed to be Percocet to students on school grounds on multiple occasions.

Pagel was arrested pending charges of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, furnishing harmful items to minors, electronic furnishing of harmful items to minors, luring a minor and transfer of marijuana.
