Bynes tweeted out this 'selfie' over the weekend.

(Yahoo Celebrity) NEW YORK – Amanda Bynes has resurfaced on Twitter — and, surprisingly, she had something nice to say.

The 28-year-old, who has been battling mental illness, mostly has been using the social media site to lash out — at her parents, lawyers, tabloids, and even friends. But Saturday she posted a selfie along with a positive message.

Bynes, who is blond again after briefly trying lilac locks, was in the dressing room of the store, modeling an outfit. The black, white, gray, and yellow ensemble — composed of a pencil skirt and crop top — showed off her tiny waistline.

The star, who has been obsessed with her weight over the last few years, also sported a bellybutton ring and shades.

We’re glad to see a shopping trip go smoothly for the one-time Hairspray star, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and manic depression. In October, she was accused of shoplifting from Barneys New York after she walked out of the high-end store with a $200 hat.

The same day, she exhibited strange behavior while shopping at the Manhattan boutique Pookie & Sebastian. She stripped down to her underwear in the middle of the store to try on an outfit and then twerked on her bodyguard.

When Bynes returned to L.A. — as part of the conservatorship overseen by her mother, who said Bynes was spending an exorbitant amount of money when overseeing her own finances — she was photographed sleeping on a couch outside Bloomingdales at the Beverly Center in L.A. in early November. On Twitter, she claimed she had to do that because her parents were withholding money from her.

But that was then and this is now. It’s nice to see Bynes looking healthy and being positive.
