12-year-old Bradenton boy killed in elevator accident at home

The incident occurred at the home of Dr. Patrick Grablin in the 1100 block of Palma Sola Blvd.

(BTLS Staff) BRADENTON – A 12-year-old Bradenton boy died Saturday from injuries sustained in an elevator accident at his family’s home.

Maxwell Grablin was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:30 am.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report deputies were dispatched to 1118 Palma Sola Blvd. In response to a 9-1-1 call. By the time they arrived the boy had suffered fatal injuries.

Paramedics with Manatee County Fire Rescue attempted to revive Maxwell but were unsuccessful. Investigators say the boy was searching for his pet hamster in the elevator shaft when it lowered.

The boy’s father, Dr. Patrick Grablin, was home at the time of the incident. Grablin owns and operates the Grablin Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine facility on 5th St. East in Bradenton.
