So, I've been thinking up some alternatives to the standard BTLS drinking game. Not that shotgunning a brew everytime Bubba says MJ isn't fun, but lets face it...you can only consume so much alcohol while working. I propose the "Bubba retirement plan game" where you put a dollar bill into a jar every time Ned says "yes". Or, how about the "BTLS sleep aid game" during the Sirius show for people that just can't sleep...every time that the topic changes to Hogan, you beat off feverishly to completion. Actually, scratch that one...Joe the Super Mark has been doing that for years and he's still awake. How about the "Dr Mark men's health game"? Every time Dr Mark says "Cialis" you give yourself a prostate check...with a zuchinni. I'll keep coming up with new games in the future, but I leave you with this one...the "BTLS check your prenup game"...everytime Bubba says "Contessa Brewer", you turn to your wife or girlfriend and tell her that you find another woman to be way hotter than she is, and you would "put her shit out in the yard"...hours of fun for the entire family!
Tiff and I are in Vermont celenrating our ten year anniversary. It’s actually next month, but we won’t be able to get away then…plus its off season, so the rates are way cheaper! I will have more details and maybe some pics as soon as I can get a useable wifi connection and not just this blackberry.
Hope all is well with everyone. I had a pretty good vacation overall and I’m pretty excited about getting back to work. Come to think of it, I was at the office almost everyday during my break to catch up on some minor things. I went to some great parties, hit the Tampa Bay Rays game, hung out at the beach, drink alot and I got some bud that’s insane. Like I said…a pretty good break. My friend moved to New York today so I held a huge going away party for him at Vintage in St. Pete and it was a blast. Had some Rays players there along with the man himself Gov. Charlie Crist. Say what you want, but for him to still go out and hang with the younger crowd is something that no other politician does. He’s a really great guy to talk to and he “gets it” when it comes to listening to concerns of young people. Anyways, enough rambling. The sleeping pill is kicking in.
AS THE ELECTION WEARS ON…..
I am sick of Americans treating this as if it were a football game, or American Idol. It is of the highest order of importance right now who is going to run the country. Of the two with the best chance, they are both better than Bush, no doubt. There are serious questions about Obama, as well as serious questions about where McCain stands on certain issues. Once the election is over, it isn’t like going to a game where everyone goes home and goes on with their lives. Our family members and neighbors who see it worth while to serve our country deserve better.
Lives are at stake here. America is not so far gone it can’t be saved. Endless war will help no one. A higher capitol gains tax will hurt the economy. There are also two candidates, Ralph Nader and Bob Barr, that deserve respect as well. Honest debate has been replaced by name calling and fear mongering. Which is why we as a nation will remain in this vicious cycle for years unless we change fundamentally how we select our leaders, and take the debate moderating power back from the two parties.
OIL PRICES AND THE MAIN CAUSES PART 2.
I keep hearing “It’s a simple supply and demand issue”. That’s not exactly true in this case. The Chinese government institutes price controls to create false gas prices in China. Then the Chinese government subsidizes the money lost by companies preventing them from passing the cost on to Chinese consumers.
While U.S. oil companies are reporting record profits, Chinese companies profits are down heavily because the governement has frozen prices since last November. The Chinese do this to limit the negative effect on their economy, if they did the same as we do in America their inflation would be in double digits. The Chinese government is able to do this because of their large surplus of money in the government.
The bad news is the Chinese government has the money to keep oil prices artificially low for years to come. The good news, there is no good news. This is one main reason simple “supply and demand” as the chimp in the White House put it, is a paradigm that doesn’t apply in this case.
We went to the beach on vacation last week. had a great time doing things the Manson klan likes to do, like staying up until 3:am and sleeping until noon every day. My 16 year old son had a great time fishing on his new boat. he caught 23 sharks one day, and 15 ladyfish the next. Unfortunately he left a bag of fozen shrimp under the live well for three days, and the smell was awful. Donna was full hot on the deal.
Donna, and I got our minds right and went out to a little dive bar one night. We had a great time just sitting in the car and watching drunks stumble out of the bar. Then we went inside and had some drinks, and played pool. We played a couple of young guys, and Donna sunk the 8 ball for the win three times in a row, The last time she did it behind the back!
The next night we all watched a vampire movie. “30 Days of Night” I had never heard of it, but it as actually really good. We liked it so much we watched it again the next night, while eating Donna’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, that’s how i party like a rock star. Manson
